Associate Professor, Urology | Chief, Division of Urologic Oncology, Urology
Research Area: Dr. Morgan has a translational research laboratory focused on identifying biomarkers associated with treatment response, primarily through molecular profiling of tumor cells circulating in the blood and bone marrow of men with prostate cancer. The goal of this work is to be able to use a “liquid biopsy” to inform decisions in the same way that tissue-based biopsies currently do. These efforts also seek to shed light on how tumors learn to evade certain treatments and how these resistance mechanisms can be targeted. Dr. Morgan also directs a number of clinical trials, primarily focused on understanding how cancer biomarkers can be utilized in order to provide more individualized management approaches. His research has received funding from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the Department of Defense, the Prostate Cancer Foundation, the Taubman Institute, and the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, among others.

Research Area: Dr. Singhal is a board-eligible urologic oncologist with clinical expertise in treating genitourinary cancers, including those of the kidney, prostate, bladder, testis, upper tract urothelium, and penile. He completed both his urology residency and a translational science research fellowship at the University of Michigan, followed by a clinical fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the Mayo Clinic.
His research focuses on advancing precision medicine through the development of genomics-informed diagnostics and biomarker-driven clinical trials in oncology. Dr. Singhal's work has been supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Cancer Institute (NCI), Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), Urology Care Foundation (UCF), the University of Michigan, and industry collaborators. He remains actively involved in academic publishing as a peer reviewer and holds membership in several national professional societies.

Undergraduate researchers in our lab play an integral role in supporting ongoing projects while also engaging in independent research under faculty mentorship. They gain hands-on experience in experimental techniques, data analysis, and scientific communication, contributing fresh perspectives and energy to the lab's collaborative environment.
